10 Benefits of Meditation

I recommend everyone meditate daily regardless of one’s spiritual and religious beliefs.  Meditation is non-denominational and has many benefits.  I have been meditating since 2003 and it has transformed my life in the most beautiful way.  Here are 10 benefits of meditation:

 

  1.  Inner Peace.  When you quiet the mind and go within, you will feel inner peace.
  2. Less Affected by Outer Events.  We all go through good times and hardships in our life.  Meditation helps to keep you calm when difficult circumstances come up.
  3. Improve Health.  Meditation relaxes the nervous system, assists with physical healing, reduces stress, enhances the immune system, promotes better digestion, and elimination.
  4. Overcome Addiction and Bad Habits.  Meditation will assist in overcoming addictions and bad habits.  I had an eating disorder in my past for nine years and meditation stopped my addiction.
  5. Find Your Life’s Purpose.  Quiet your mind through meditation.  When you do meditation on a daily basis, eventually your life’s purpose will be revealed to you.
  6. Receive Answers.  When you quiet the mind, your soul will give you all answers you need in life.   If you ever have difficulty making a decision, meditate and you will receive an answer from within.
  7. Let go of Negative Thoughts and Feelings.  Meditation will let go of negative thoughts and feelings.  It will allow you to love yourself and others.
  8.  Creates Discipline.  Meditation helps you to gain discipline, which will allow you to follow a healthy diet and lifestyle.
  9. Keeps you in the Present Moment.  Letting go of the mind, which identifies with time, will keep you in the present moment.  Only the present moment is our true self.
  10. Stay Grounded.  Meditation keeps you present in your body and connected with the earth.  It helps you to feel centered and balanced no matter what is happening around you.
